Review: L'Oreal Studio Secrets Professional The One Sweep Eyeshadow

L'Oreal One Sweep Eyeshadow - $9.99

What is it?
L'oreal has created a one-step eye shadow palette that takes the guesswork out of color placement. It defines, colors and highlights in "one sweep". The color combinations are based on eye color with a Natural and Playful palette for green, blue and brown eyes. There are also Natural and Playful palettes for all eye colors.

Why did I buy it?
I'm a sucker for a palette and this was on sale at Walgreens. I choose the Playful for All Eyes palette.

Should you sample this?
The concept of applying all three eye colors at the same time sounds good but I didn't think it would work. The key to eye shadow looking good is blending and the advertisements looked like someone took a crayon and drew three lines across your eyes. The foam applicator is "eye lid shaped", the instructions are detailed for each eye, using both sides of the applicator. I was surprised at the ease of application and the color placement, it was almost perfect after one sweep. The highlight color was a little lacking so I swiped again, a little better. For me, the highlight color doesn't show up enough but over all it saved me 5 minutes of multi color, multi brush application. I did use my Urban Decay Primer as a base and my Sigma E40 brush to give the colors a little more blending. Application note: you may have to clean up outside your lid area - the sweep may extend to your temple.

If you are looking for a quick and easy one step, no thought required eye shadow palette, you should sample this - Tamiko
